HOW WE ARE DIFFERENT

How Have We Created Such a Homely Atmosphere?

We believe that people play a massive part in how we create this feel; we believe that warmth, love and laughter is important and this will carry through at The Homestead Childcare.

The room will be laid out as much like our homes as possible, in terms of soft furnishings etc for anyone who knows us we are re big fans of shabby chic style and anything Kath Kidston to match! We have dining tables to have lunch and dinner on rather than small tables or high chairs. Meal times will be about having a chat about our day, encouraging good table manners and have the feeling of a family meal at the dining table rather than a commercial canteen style meal time where we all sit in long lines on metal benches.

We have a lounge area with warm cosy rugs and sofas to relax on; we make sure that the environment represents our homes with things like lamps, plants and photos of each everyone in frames.
Sarah, the owner, is from a childminding back ground, and loves the family feel of The Homestead and sees us all as a very big family! I think that the bonds that have been created over the years are so important, children arrive with us at a very young age and seeing them right through infants and junior school is really special. We even had one of our children who is now 15 do their work experience with us!

We have children of all ages from 6 months to 10 years presently, we like to go on lots of outings during the school holidays everything from pond dipping to day trips to LEGOLAND, we like to do something different each day, sometimes the children need a little chill out day and so we have a theme day at home anything from Weather Day to Super Hero’s Day.
